AMES, Iowa – The excitement is building at record pace as the Iowa State wrestling team readies itself for the 2009-10 season. Cyclone supporters have fueled the season ticket sales for the first campaign of new head coach Kevin Jackson to a record 1,348 season tickets.
Season tickets are still on sale for Cyclone wrestling at $50. Cyclone fans can contact the Athletics Ticket Office at 1-888-478-2925 (toll free) or 515-294-1816, or by e-mail at tickets@iastate.edu.
“I am excited that our fans are buying into our program at record levels,” Jackson said. “There is still time for more fans to buy tickets and support our wrestling program.”
The new season ticket record brings down the old tally of 1,313 that was set in 2007.
The ISU wrestling team opens the season in Hilton Coliseum against South Dakota State Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. Iowa State also plays host to Iowa, Illinois, Missouri and Nebraska this season.
