The Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines partner to provide educational opportunities to CVM students and improve veterinary services provided at the zoo.
At Blank Park Zoo, you'll enjoy a wonderful park atmosphere as you view over 800 furry, finned and feathered exotic creatures. You'll find a surprise around every corner as you follow the winding path and manicured gardens! Experience the wonders of nature found in the Wilds of Africa and Australia. The indoor Discover Center will amaze you with its mountainous and tropical habitats filled with exotic plants, birds, fish and animals. Blank Park Zoo is the only accredited zoo in the state of Iowa and is growing. In the past year, the Zoo has opened a new Australia Adventure, the new Hub Harbor Seal & Sea Lion Pool, and a new Japanese Macaque experience. Opening in 2013 will be a black rhinoceros and eland exhibit. Blank Park Zoo is proud to partner with the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine to provide great veterinary care for Zoo animals and unique educational opportunities to students.
Cy's Pets of the Week
In its second year, Cy’s Pets of the Week is a program sponsored by the ISU College of Veterinary to promote animal health and Cyclone pride. All you need to do is photograph your pet showing its Cardinal and Gold spirit. Five pet photos will be featured on the Jack Trice Stadium Video Board during the football games. One photo will be chosen to win a basket of prizes provided by the Blank Park Zoo and a gift card to the ISU bookstore provided by the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center.
Promotional Details and Rules
Submitted photos will be approved for use and may be displayed on cyclones.com, or other sponsor-related websites, social media platforms and outside advertising mediums. Photos may be altered and/or modified to ensure quality. Photos will not be returned. Please submit photos by noon, Thursday prior to each football game.
