McRobbie Signs With Iowa State Gymnastics Team

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State head gymnastics coach Jay Ronayne announced the addition of Becca McRobbie to the Cyclones for the upcoming 2014 season Wednesday.

The Rowlett, Texas, native comes to Iowa State with a sterling club gymnastics resume that includes qualifying for the Junior Olympic National Championships four times.  In 2010, McRobbie placed fifth in the all-around at the national championships, was the Region 3 all-around champion and earned top honors in the all-around at the Texas state championships.   

McRobbie placed third in the all-around at the 2011 Texas state championships and 4th in the all-around at the same competition in 2012.  She earned first-place honors on vault at the Region 3 championships and third in the all-around in 2011. McRobbie placed fifth in the all-around and second on vault at the 2012 Region 3 championships. 

McRobbie’s achievements extend beyond the gymnastics arena, as she is a member of the National Honor Society.
