IRVING, Texas - The Sept. 15 Iowa at Iowa State football game in Ames will be telecast nationally with a 12:30 p.m. CDT kickoff on VERSUS as part of a Big 12 Conference and FSN (Fox Sports Net) agreement to sublicense additional football games to VERSUS. VERSUS is available in designated channel packages on cable and satellite providers, including Mediacom Cable in central Iowa (channel 55), DirecTV (channel 608) and Dish Network (channel 151).

Iowa State will be celebrating the legacy of the 1977 Peach Bowl team as it plays host to Iowa on the 30th anniversary of the resumption of the intrastate series. The Cyclones will wear "Throwback" jerseys and helmets identical to the uniforms worn by the Iowa State football team during the 1977 season. The replica jerseys will be auctioned to fans, beginning in August. Iowa State opens the season on Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. against Kent State in Jack Trice Stadium.

"The enhanced national exposure for Big 12 football on VERSUS is an asset," Big 12 Commissioner Kevin Weiberg said. "With games on ABC, FSN, ESPN and now VERSUS we have significantly expanded the reach of Big 12 football. We are pleased with this new agreement and appreciate the efforts of our partner FSN in bringing this opportunity to us."

Earlier, FSN agreed to sublicense games televised by Turner Sports in previous years to ESPN for the 2007 season. Under the terms of this agreement, VERSUS will telecast five Big 12 games in 2007.

"VERSUS is a good fit for this package and FSN looks forward to partnering with them to nationally televise football from two of the premier conferences in the country," said Jeremy Langer, FSN Executive Director of College Sports.

To date, 12 of the 16 Big 12 road non-conference games will be carried by ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, FSN or CSTV. The remaining road games are subject to the local telecast package of the home team. The league will have a minimum of 15 games each on three of the leaders in the national distribution of college football television -- ABC, FSN and ESPN/ESPN2. With games also on VERSUS and CSTV, Big 12 football will be televised by five different national carriers in 2007.

"We are thrilled to announce the addition of Big 12 and Pac-10 games to our existing lineup of collegiate sports," said Marc Fein, Senior Vice President of Programming and Production for VERSUS. "Our schedule from these conferences will feature some great match-ups and this partnership will ultimately help to grow our audience and bring in new viewers to the network."
