LONDON - Former Iowa State NCAA champion and Olympian Lisa Uhl saved her best for the biggest race of her career. Uhl placed 13th in Friday's Olympic Games 10,000 meters. Uhl's time of 31:12.80 was a personal best. Tirunesh Dibaba, who won the 5,000 meters and the 10,000 meters at the 2008 Beijing Games, finished first in 30:20.75.

Uhl's time bettered her previous best of 31:18.07, which she ran in 2010, earning her the collegiate record. Uhl finished right behind fellow Americans Amy Hastings (31:10.69) and Janet Bawcom (31:12.68) in Friday's race, who placed 11th and 12th, respectively. Both also set personal bests in the race.
