Errors Cost No. 25 Iowa State at K-State
Turning Point of the Match
Iowa State’s best area all season has been its serving. The Cyclones have led the Big 12 the entire season and have been in the top-10 of the NCAA for over a month now. On Saturday, however, the serving was not on for ISU. The Cyclones finished the match with 12 service errors, only the fourth time the Cyclones have had at least 10 service errors in a match. Five of those came in the first set which the Cyclones lost 25-21.
In the third set, the Cyclones were ahead 16-14, but the Wildcats were able to pull ahead for good with a 7-2 run which included five of the points being given to K-State on a variety of errors. Iowa State was able to fight off two match points, but eventually Chelsea Keating got the kill to close out the match.
*Iowa State finished the Big 12 season in third place with its 11-5 conference record.
*Kristen Hahn’s 14 digs marked the 67th consecutive match she has had at least 10 digs.
