Iowa State University’s student-athletes are committed to their community. The ISU athletics department stresses an overall athletics experience. The Cyclones frequently involve themselves in activities throughout Iowa, giving back to those in need and spending time with the fans that support them.
Every year, student-athletes from different teams coordinate projects by taking responsibility to serve as goodwill ambassadors for the athletics department and Iowa State University. In addition, student-athletes elect to perform individual community service hours in a variety of areas.
A few of the many ways that the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) has served the community include: autograph sessions, hospital visits, Toys for Tots, Habitat for Humanity, Adopt an Angel, and Run for the Cure.
