AMES, Iowa – Iowa State's rematch of a triple overtime thriller at Toledo (Sept. 22) will be web cast live in the Clone Zone section of cyclones.com.

“We’re pleased that Cyclone fans unable to travel to Toledo may enjoy a live web cast of the Cyclones on our web site with a membership to the Clone Zone,” Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard said. “We greatly appreciate the cooperation of our conference office and TV partners to allow us to provide this coveted content, as this will be the only place our fans can watch live video coverage of this game.”

Conference TV deals normally prohibit the ability to web cast live football games, so the Toledo contest is a special addition for Clone Zone members.

(Iowa State and Toledo are both in the stable of schools whose web sites are hosted by XOS Technologies. Institutions in the XOS family can share video feeds with one another. Toledo was recently launched as an XOS school and will deliver the Cyclones’ game as their premium content debut. Toledo, as host of the football game against ISU, will be responsible for providing the video feed to Iowa State for the web cast. Toledo has an agreement with the Buckeye Cable Sports Network, which will be producing the live video feed, complete with a four-camera production and announcers.)

The Clone Zone debuted on cyclones.com as a premium content video/audio service last year. The football content in the highly popular package included one-hour highlight shows of all games, live weekly news conferences with coaches, post-game interviews after home games, on-demand video of coach’s shows and special features like the “Coordinator’s Corner”.

To join the Clone Zone and receive the above content, go to cyclones.com and use the sign-up procedures in the upper right-hand corner of the front page. Monthly subscriptions cost $8.95 and a yearly subscription costs $79.95. There is also a test video available for fans to make certain their computers can support the technology. ISU encourages first-time subscribers to sign up for the product on Monday and watch Gene Chizik's weekly media conference live at 11:20 a.m. to ensure your computer supports the streaming video technology.

“For out-of-the-area Cyclone fans or die-hards who desire the inside scoop at the click of a mouse, the Clone Zone is a very desired product,” Pollard said. “The fact that  this is a road game with no other TV coverage, using Toledo's video feed is an added bonus that will surely boost membership in the Clone Zone.”
