Chris Jorgensen has served the Iowa State Athletics Department as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Facilities, Planning and Management since 2011 after three years as an Assistant A.D. for Administration.

He is a member of the department’s senior-level administrative team and has oversight responsibilities for all of the department’s construction and capital projects as well as the facilities & grounds, event management and concessions units.

Jorgensen has been the athletics department liaison with architects and construction crews for a variety of multi-million dollar projects.

Reaching completion in 2012 were the Bergstrom Football Training Facility ($20.6 million) and the Cyclones Sports Complex ($13 million). The CSC is the spectacular home for the track & field, soccer and softball programs. The football complex houses all support units for the football team and also features a state-of-the-art weight room, locker facilities, meeting rooms and coaches’ offices.

Jorgensen also oversaw the construction of a year-around golf performance center, featuring both indoor and outdoor facilities plus lockers and team lounge space. It opened in 2013.

As Assistant A.D. (from 2008-10), Jorgensen was a key contributor to the administrative team on multiple financial forecasting projects as well as assisting with the department’s operation of Hilton Coliseum. He oversaw installation of a HD video board in Jack Trice Stadium and was project manager for the school’s $8 million Sukup Basketball Complex.

Prior to joining the Iowa State Athletics staff, Jorgensen had various roles in the auditing division of Deloitte & Touche, LLP, in Des Moines from 1995-2007. He was an Audit Senior Manager his last four years.

He is a 1995 graduate of Simpson College with a degree in accounting. Jorgensen played football for the Storm. Over a 10-year period, Jorgensen was an assistant football coach for three different central Iowa high schools (most recently, Des Moines East, 2006-08).

Chris and his, wife, Sara, have two daughters (Sydney and Kendall).
