OMAHA, Neb. - After peppering the Creighton goal with 23 shots in regulation to no avail, junior Emily Goldstein scored a sudden victory goal 1:31 into overtime. The strike gave the Iowa State soccer team a 1-0 victory.

Goldstein's unassisted goal added to her hot start to the young campaign.  The Orange County, Calif., native has netted a pair of goals and an assist in the Cyclones' first two matches.

Iowa State (2-0 overall, 0-0 Big 12 Conference) statistically controlled the match with a 24-14 shots edge.  The Cyclones also had the edge in shots on goal (10-6) and corner kicks (8-3).

The Cyclone defense cannot go unmentioned, as Iowa State has posted a pair of shutouts in its first two matches.  Going back to 2011, the Cyclones have played 286 minutes without conceding a goal.

Iowa State junior goalkeeper Maddie Jobe went the distance and registered six saves and her second win of the campaign.  Jobe also earned the shut out, the 12th of her career.

The Cyclones are now 2-0-1 in their last three overtime matches.

Junior Jennifer Dominguez posted a game-high six shots and two were on goal. Dominguez's six shots were one off her career high.

Iowa State faces New Mexico Friday at 3:30 p.m. CT in its next match. The contest against the Lobos will be a part of the Husker Invitational and played in Lincoln, Neb.
