AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State men's basketball team has always been active in giving back to the community. The Cyclones continued their trend last week by taking part in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) "Stay in to Win" initiative.

The NABC "Stay in to Win" program was setup to help students focus on making important decisions in order to become more successful in school and impact their overall quality of life. Iowa State Associate Head Coach T.J. Otzelberger is the representative on the Cyclone coaching staff to help promote the campaign.

Last week, Otzelberger and Iowa State men's hoopsters Korie Lucious and Will Clyburn advised students at Scavo Alternative High School in Des Moines on making good academic, career and personal choices.

Otzelberger felt the visit was a success.

"This is a great initiative sponsored by the NABC and we are glad to try and help in any way possible," Otzelberger said. "It's important to talk with kids at an early age and I think they responded to the life experiences of Will and Korie. They did a great job of talking about their paths of success."
