Cyclones To Host Intercollegiate Meet
AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State cross country teams are set to host their only home meet of the season as college squads head to Ames for the annual Iowa Intercollegiate Meet Saturday on the ISU Cross Country Course. The women's 5,000-meter race is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. while the men's 8,000-meter race is expected to start at 10:30 a.m. Four high school races will follow the collegiate competition.
"This will give everybody a chance to do some racing in a friendly environment as we get ready for the main part of the season," Iowa State head coach Corey Ihmels said. "We are looking forward to seeing all of our athletes make a personal bid to play a part for our program over the next two months."
Competing against the Cyclones are: Des Moines Area Community College, Grand Hills, Indian Hills, Iowa Lakes, Missouri, Marshalltown Community College, North Iowa Area Community College, UW-Lacrosse, Wartburg and Waldorf.
Results will be posted on cyclones.com at the conclusion of the meet.
