AMES, Iowa – Due to snow on the University of Minnesota campus, Iowa State (19-24, 4-8 Big 12) will host the scheduled doubleheader against the Gophers, rather than make the trip to Minneapolis.

The Gophers have played only three games on their home field this season, thanks in part to winter weather cancellations. The team has not played a game since April 16 after its three games last weekend were cancelled due to weather.

Minnesota has won the last four meetings with Iowa State but the Cyclones are having the best offensive season in program history, setting records for RBI, runs scored and stolen bases this season; the squad is also closing in on single-season records for walks and home runs.

Wednesday’s games at the Cyclone Sports Complex will be at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. CDT.
