Cyclone Women Open Season Ranked 26th Nationally

AMES, Iowa – The United State Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its 2013 national preseason poll today. The Iowa State women will open the year ranked 26th.

The Cyclones are coming off their second consecutive conference title, and will look to make it three in a row this season. Iowa State has also taken the past three NCAA Midwest Regional titles.

No. 21 Oklahoma State is the only Big 12 program ranked higher than the Iowa State. Texas and West Virginia round out the Big 12 at No. 27 and No. 29, respectively.

Iowa State begins the season Friday at the Bulldog 4K Classic in Des Moines, Iowa. The races will be held at Ewing Park with the women starting at 5:00 p.m. and the men at 5:45 p.m.
