Women's Hoops Signee Bell Receives WBCA Honor

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State women’s basketball signee Nakiah Bell received honorable mention All-America honors by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).

Bell was one of 30 high school athletes across the country to receive All-America honors by the WBCA and was a part of a 20-member honorable mention All-America team.

Bell is a 5-5 guard for Incarnate Word Academy in St. Louis Mo., who has led her team to a 24-1 record and a No. 4 national ranking.

Bell is a three-time all-conference selection and was named all-state and all-metro her junior season. She has amassed over 1,100 career points and 500 assists. The senior guard owns school records in career assists (503) and 3-pointers made in a single season (79).  Bell became the first point guard at Incarnate Word Academy to score over 1,000 points.

Bell is one of five signees and will join the Cyclones on the court for the 2014-15 season.
