Cyclone Notebook
- ISU (22-7, 10-7) closes the regular season Saturday against Oklahoma State (20-10, 8-9). The Cyclones are 3-0 in regular season finales under the direction of Fred Hoiberg. The Cyclones have won 10 conference games for the third-straight season, a first in program history.
- Hoiberg won his 84th game as head coach of the Cyclones vs. WVU, which ties him with Larry Eustachy (84) in their first four years leading the program.
- Iowa State is one of just three schools nationally with three players averaging at least 16 ppg (VMI, Delaware). The Cyclones have had five different players tally 20+ points in a game this season.
- Ejim is the Big 12’s top scorer at 18.4 points per game, up 7.1 ppg from last season. The last Cyclone to lead the conference in scoring was Marcus Fizer (1999, 2000). Ejim is the only player in a power conference averaging at least 18 pts, eight rebounds while also shooting at least 50 percent from the field and 33 percent behind the arc.
- Ejim has been named a Capital One First-Team Academic All-American, joining Fred Hoiberg as the only first-team members in school history. No first-team pick has led the Big 12 in scoring.
- Ejim needs just one rebound to become the fourth player in Big 12 history to score 1,500 points and grab 1,000 career rebounds.
- DeAndre Kane has scored 20+ points in three of the last three games and is averaging 20.6 ppg, 7.4 rpg and 4.6 assists in the last five games. Kane is shooting a career-best 36.9 percent behind the arc (previous: 31.8, 2010-11). Kane needs 19 points to reach 2,000 in his college career.
- Freshman Monté Morris has started the last 10 games and is currently on pace to break the NCAA record with a 6.0 assist-turnover ratio. In conference play, his a/to ratio is 8.2. Morris had 12 assists and no turnovers in ISU’s win against West Virginia. The 12 assists were an ISU freshman record.
- Niang has scored 17 or more points in 10 of the 13 games since Jan. 18. Niang is the only post player to rank in the top-10 of the Big 12 in assists per game (3.6).
- Iowa State is leading the Big 12 in scoring (82.4). The Cyclones share and protect the ball as well as anyone in the country, dishing out 18.6 assists (1st in nation) and posting a 1.78 assist/turnover ratio (2nd in nation, 1st in Big 12).
- ISU’s seven wins against top-25 teams ties the school record set in 1999-2000. The Cyclones are 7-2 against the top-25 this season and have eight wins vs. the RPI top-50.

Series Notes vs. Oklahoma State
- Oklahoma State leads the all-time series vs. Iowa State at 63-55.
- ISU snapped an 18-game losing streak in Stillwater when the Cyclones beat the Cowboys, 98-97, in three overtimes earlier this year. It was ISU’s first win in Stillwater since 1988.
- Naz Long hit a three, his first of the game, with 1.4 seconds left in the second overtime to send it to a third. Monté Morris only three of the game gave the Cyclones the lead for good with 43 seconds left in the third overtime.
- DeAndre Kane had 26 points, nine rebounds and nine assists in the game. Melvin Ejim chipped in 22 points and 13 rebounds.
- Georges Niang averages 17 points and shoots 60.6 percent from the field in three career meetings with the Cowboys.
- OSU head coach Travis Ford played against ISU for two different teams in his collegiate career. As a freshman at Missouri in 1989-90, Ford scored 10 and nine points, respectively, in his two games vs. ISU. He later transferred to Kentucky, where he played against ISU in the 1992 NCAA Tournament. He played four minutes in the game, but did not score.
