AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State track and field season came to a close with a strong showing at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The Cyclones came away with a national champion, three first-team All-Americans, two second-teamers and three honorable mentions.

This season marked the first under director of track and field and cross country Martin Smith. The Cyclones excelled on national, conference and individual levels under Smith and his staff, as Iowa State student-athletes took home numerous accolades over the 2014 indoor and outdoor seasons.

Iowa State student-athletes won 12 conference event titles in 2014, taking seven at the Big 12 indoor meet and five more at the outdoor championships. Christina Hillman (wSP), Edward Kemboi (m800) and Ejiro Okoro (w800) swept their respective competitions.
