Clinton Mann To Transfer

AMES, Iowa – Clinton Mann, a 6-7 freshman from Overland Park, Kan., will transfer from the Iowa State men’s basketball program according to head coach Greg McDermott.

“We have enjoyed having Clint as a member of our basketball program,” McDermott said. “His attitude and work ethic have been excellent. I understand Clint’s desire to find a program that will allow him a better chance to play early in his career. We have appreciated all the efforts that Clint has provided us and we will help Clint as he searches for a new school.”

Mann’s departure will not affect the school’s Academic Progress Rate (APR) because of his academic success. Mann will be a “1-1” in APR parlance for the spring semester.

“I’ve decided to transfer to another school that will provide me a better opportunity to play earlier in my career,” Mann said. “I’ve enjoyed my time at Iowa State and wish the program the best.”

Mann saw limited time in his freshman campaign, logging 43 minutes in 18 games. He averaged 0.7 points and 0.4 rebounds. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
