Produced an outstanding season in his only year with the Cyclones, earning honorable mention All-Big 12 honors...was named to the Kansas City Star’s All-Newcomer team....averaged 14.9 points and 9.3 rebounds...earned Big 12 Rookie of the Week honors six times (Nov. 23; Dec. 21; Jan. 4, 18, 25; March 7)...started all 32 games...ranked fourth in the Big 12 and 35th nationally in rebounding (9.3 rpg)...led the Big 12 in rebounding (conference games only) at 10.3 rpg...was the only Big 12 player to average a double-double in league action (15.3 points/10.3 rebounds), becoming just the second Cyclone to achieve the feat since the league formed in 1996-97...second on the team and fifth in the Big 12 in double-doubles with 11, producing the 20th-best single-season double-double total in school history...his 298 boards was the 14th-best single-season total in ISU history...recorded a double-double in his first four Big 12 games, becoming just the second player in Big 12 history (Kevin Durant- Texas) to record double-doubles in their first four games vs. league competition...ended the year with 43 3-pointers, making a trey in 18 of his last 19 games...scored in double figures in 28 of 32 games...recorded four 20-point games...notched his first double-double with 11 points and a career-high 15 rebounds vs. Chicago State...tallied 20 points and 13 rebounds vs. No. 1 Texas in his Big 12 debut...recorded a career-high 26 points vs. Colorado (10-16 FG; 2-3 3FG).

Junior College
Emerged as one of the best junior college players in the nation in his one season at Gulf Coast, averaging 22.6 points and 10.1 rebounds for one of the biggest surprise teams in junior college...earned honorable mention All-America honors by the NJCAA...rated as the 26th-best player in the class of 2009 (high school and junior college players) by 10th nationally in scoring and 20th in the nation in rebounding in the final NJCAA statistical rankings...shot 48.3 percent from the field (257-532), 40.9 percent from 3-point range (52-127) and 74.8 percent from the free-throw line (181-242)...was named Panhandle Conference Player of the Year and first-team team all-Panhandle Conference...was a first-team All-FCCAA honoree...led his team to a 24-9 overall record and a spot in the state final...GCCC lost to No. 1 ranked Chipola JC (68-65) to miss out at a chance for the national tournament...scored 27 points to help his squad defeat No. 3 Miami Dade in the first round of the state playoffs...averaged 24.6 points and 10.3 rebounds to earn FCCAA All-Tournament team honors...had seven 30+ scoring games...participated in the 2009 NJCAA All-Star Basketball Classic...teammates at GCCC with Brad Reese, who is on the Texas Tech roster, and  Derrio Green, who plays for Charlotte...coached by Jay Powell.
