Throwback Uniforms To Be Auctioned Starting Friday
AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State Athletics Department will debut on Friday a five week-long online auction (at Cyclones.com) of game-worn items from the Cyclones' "Throwback Game" that the players are wearing on Sept. 14.
As a tribute to Jack Trice, Iowa State will wear replica jerseys from that era and over 100 full throwback uniform packages (jerseys, pants and socks) worn by the Cyclones against the Hawkeyes this year will be available to the highest bidders in five separate one-week long auctions between Aug. 9 and Sept. 13. Each weekly auction will start at noon on Friday and end the following Friday at 4 p.m.
Bidding on the uniform packages will start at $250. Names will not be on the jerseys. In addition, due to NCAA rules, we cannot specifically identify which player wore which uniform.
Fans with winning bids from the auctions will have the apparel mailed to them at a later date when the gear will be laundered and packaged. Each package will include a certificate of authenticity.
