Iowa State Heads to Wisconsin Adidas Invitational
AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State cross country teams will compete Friday at the third annual Wisconsin Adidas Invitational on the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Madison, Wis. The women's 6,000-meter race is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. CDT with the men's 8,000-meter race following immediately at 1:40 p.m.
The Wisconsin Adidas Invitational will by the Cyclones' last meet before the Big 12 Championships Oct. 29 in College Station, Texas.
The Iowa State women will enter the weekend ranked first in the Midwest Region and ninth nationally, according to the latest rankings from the U.S Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. The Cyclone men hold a fourth-place ranking in the Midwest Region. They will compete against three other Big 12 schools (Kansas, Texas, Texas A&M) as well as 19 of the nation's top 30 men's teams, including second-ranked Wisconsin. The Iowa State women will face two Big 12 rivals (Kansas and Texas A&M) and 18 of the nation's top-30 squads, including top-ranked Villanova and second-ranked Providence.
