IRVING, Texas - Iowa State's Meaghan Nelson was named Big 12 Runner of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon. Nelson is the third Cyclone runner to earn the honors this season. Seniors Dani Stack and Rico Loy were named Runners of the Week on September 27. This is the first time Nelson has earned these honors.

Nelson, a native of Cedar Rapids, led the Cyclone women last weekend at the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational as she earned a ninth-place finish and largely contributed to the Cyclones' ninth-place team finish. The junior clocked a time of 20:18.30 on the 6,000-meter course at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Madison, Wis.
