Cyclones Head to Wisconsin Adidas Invitational
AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State cross country teams head to their last meet before the Big 12 Championships as they compete in the elite and fourth annual Wisconsin Adidas Invitational on the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Madison, Wis. The women’s 6,000-meter race will commence at noon followed by the 8,000-meter men’s race at approximately 12:40 p.m.
"Both groups are excited to have a chance to run against the top teams in the country," Iowa State head coach Corey Ihmels said. "The women can see where we are compared to the very best and the men get a chance to go out and beat some teams that we will battle for an NCAA Championship berth."
The Iowa State women are ranked first in the Midwest Region and fifth nationally heading in to this weekend’s meet. The Cyclone men hold seventh place in the Midwest Region. They will run against Big 12 foes Kansas and Oklahoma, among 48 other competitive teams.
