CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa- The Mayor has entered the building. An enthusiastic crowd of over 1,000 people flocked to the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids Thursday evening to see new ISU head men's basketball coach Fred Hoiberg.

Hoiberg was making his first stop on the Iowa State Tailgate Tour and the response was phenomenal. A line of Cyclone fans literally snaked outside the arena just to get a photo and a chance to chat with the Cyclone legend.

Hoiberg's appearance was the highlight of one of the most attended ISU tour outings ever. Voice of the Cyclones John Walters held a question and answer session with Hoiberg, ISU football coach Paul Rhoads, Athletics Director Jamie Pollard, volleyball coach Christy Johnson-Lynch, wrestling coach Kevin Jackson, women's basketball coach Bill Fennelly and swimming coach Duane Sorenson.

A crew of ISU football players also made the trek to Cedar Rapids to be a part of the festivities. Austen Arnaud, Drew Davis, Ben Lamaak, Grant Mahoney, Ryan Gent and Wes Boyer were given a huge round of applause by the Cyclone faithful.

The Cyclone Tailgate Tour resumes in two weeks (May 25-26) with stops in Fort Dodge, Waterloo, New Hampton and Clear Lake. The Tour wraps up June 7 and 8 with stops in Harlan, Omaha, Sioux City and Lake Okoboji.
