AMES, Iowa - Iowa State fans helped the Cyclone athletics department and wrestling team takedown hunger Sunday night. Iowa State’s wrestling team defeated Old Dominion at Hilton Coliseum in “Hy-Vee’s Takedown Hunger” meet.

Hy-Vee donated 20 turkeys to the Bethesda Food pantry for every takedown scored by Iowa State wrestlers against ODU. Fans also had an opportunity to takedown hunger by donating canned food items for free admission. Over 300 cans were collected and will be donated to the Bethesda Food Pantry along with the turkeys.

Thank you to those that came out and supported your Iowa State wrestling team and helped Iowa State Athletics and Hy-Vee takedown hunger.

The video above shows the donation delivery brought to Bethesda Food Pantry by Cyclone wrestlers Jon Reader, Andrew Sorenson, Brandon Jones, Chris Drouin and Scott Moody.
