"This (the Cyclone Tailgate Tour) has been our way of saying ‘thank you’ to Cyclone Nation for its support. Meeting so many passionate Cyclones, providing a fun evening of entertainment geared to kids and making an impact in communities around the state was a key summer initiative for our department. It was a huge success!"

AMES, Iowa – For the first time ever, fans of all ages interacted with Iowa State coaches, student-athletes, spirit squads and other staff members in the first year of the "Tailgate Tour," a six-stop state-wide caravan.

“Getting around the state to meet and greet Cyclone alums and boosters was important to growing our fan base,” Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard said. “We also tried to give something back to these communities by visiting local hospitals, community centers and elementary schools. We were thrilled by the number of attendees and feel that a meaningful Cyclone presence was created in each of the six communities visited."
