AMES, Iowa – Five Iowa State track and field athletes will head to Des Moines to compete in the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships Wednesday through Saturday inside Drake Stadium. The Cyclones will be represented at the championships by three women and two men.

Nearing the end of a breakout season, Dani Stack will compete alongside three-time All-American teammate Betsy Saina in the 10,000-meter run. After finishing second and third in the national semifinal race at the NCAA West Regional May 26 in Eugene, Ore., the Cyclone duo will enter the finals of the 10K Wednesday at 8:45 p.m. CDT seeded second and third.

Kianna Elahi will compete in the 400-meter hurdles at the NCAA Championships for the second straight year, and enters the national semifinal race seeded 18th after performing strongly in the preliminary and quarterfinal rounds.

Freshman standout Edward Kemboi will look to continue his strong presence in the 800-meter field. Kemboi automatically qualified for the NCAA Championships after winning his heat in the first-round and finishing runner-up in his quarterfinal heat. He enters the semifinal race seeded seventh in the 24-athlete field after running a personal best 1:47.25 in the quarterfinals May 28.

Three-time All-American Hillary Bor enters the NCAA Championships seeded 11th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase field and will look to become the second Cyclone track and field athlete to earn All-American honors four times in a single event.

The Cyclones will all compete in their respective semifinal races Wednesday, with the final races taking place throughout the day on Friday if they qualify. The men’s 800-meter semi-final is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. CDT with the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase semi-final at 7:45 p.m. and the women’s 400-meter hurdles semi-final at 8:15 p.m.

A live video stream of the NCAA Championships will be provided on NCAA.com. Live results will also be available and results will be posted on cyclones.com at the conclusion of each day’s events.
