Cyclones Ranked 23rd in Preseason AP Poll

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State women’s basketball team debuts at No. 23 in the preseason AP poll.

Earlier this week the Cyclones were ranked 20th in the preseason USA Today Coaches Poll.

The Cyclones return three starters from last year’s team and eight letter winners. Iowa State also returns senior Hallie Christofferson, who was a unanimous selection to the All-Big 12 First-Team and named to the John R. Wooden Award Preseason Top 30.

Iowa State returns 61 percent of its scoring and 58 percent of its rebounding from last season’s team, which advanced to the NCAA second round.

The Cyclones hit the court this Sunday, Nov. 3 for their first exhibition game against Wayne State at noon. Iowa State opens the regular season on Nov. 10 against North Dakota at 7 p.m. in Hilton Coliseum.
