Earned the No. 13 seed at the 2015 NCAA Championships... wrestled to a 23-10 record... went 9-4 in dual competition... suffered an opening-round loss to Cal Poly's Dominic Kastl by 7-1 decision on the opening round of the NCAAs... eliminated from the championships by Missouri's John Eblen (8-0 major-decision)... finished runner-up to Oklahoma State's All-American Kyle Crutchmer at the Big 12 Championships... defeated Oklahoma's Matt Reed by 7-4 decision in the Big 12 semifinals... closed out the dual season with a pin over Wisconsin's Frank Cousins in 4:05... dominated West Virginia's Paker VonEdgidy, picking up a 15-3 major-decision... knocked off Virginia Tech's Zach Epperly 4-3... the victory over Epperly earned Weatherman Big 12 Wrestler of the Week honors... finished in seventh place at the Southern Scuffle... beat Oklahoma State's Jordan Rogers in sudden-victory 10-8 to earn seventh place... garnered a third-place finish at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational... posted a 5-1 record at the tournament... secured a place in the consolation finals with a 7-6 win over Michigan's Dante Mahomes in sudden-victory... started out the year with eight-consecutive bonus-point victories... beat Ellsworth's Sadarriss Patterson by 18-3 technical-fall in the Kaye Young Open finals... led the team in dual-scoring with 101 points behind 35 takedowns.
NCAA-qualifier for the second consecutive season at 174 pounds… fell a match shy of the All-American podium for the second straight season after he was downed 3-2 by No. 7 seed Tyler Wilps of Pitt in the round of 12… finished the NCAA Championships 3-2 with a pin and two wins by decision… took sixth-place at the Southern Scuffle after finishing 5-2… trailed Cody Johnston of Missouri 6-0 heading into the final period of his opening round match at the Scuffle, before exploding in the third to score 13 points en route to a 13-10 victory… took eighth-place at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite wrestling up a weight class at 184 pounds… scored his first offensive points against two-time NCAA champion Chris Perry of Oklahoma State… took Perry down twice in a 6-4 dual loss… picked up career win No. 40 on Feb. 8 over UNI’s Cody Caldwell, downing the Panther grappler 9-5 in a hostile West Gym… finished the year 25-6 overall and 8-7 in duals… tallied three pins and two tech falls.
NCAA-qualifier at 174 pounds… went 2-2 at the NCAA Championships, missing the All-American podium by one match… upset the No. 12 seed Dan Yates (Michigan) and the No. 7 seed Jordan Blanton (Illinois) in his first two matches of the national tournament… his 16-14 win over three-time All-American Jordan Blanton in the second-round was the highest scoring match of the 2013 NCAA Championships… went 20-9 overall in his first season, tallying an impressive 11-3 record in duals… clinched an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships with his runner-up finish at the Big 12 Championships to eventual NCAA champion Chris Perry of Oklahoma State… tallied bonus points in seven duals, earning five major decisions, one pin and one tech fall… named the Big 12 Wrestler of the Week on Feb. 11, making him the only freshman to receive the honor
Redshirted initial collegiate season... posted a record of 12-3 while competing unattatched… placed second at the UNI Open with a 3-1 record, earning a major decision 16-3 over Northern Iowa’s Austin Gelbach and a win by technical fall over Wade Goblin of Upper Iowa 20-3… placed fifth at the Midlands Championships with a 5-2 record and a technical fall over Clarion’s Ryan Darch 16-0… placed first at the Grand View Open with a 4-0 record, pinning Ellsworth’s Travis Jones and Cody Schurman of Northern Iowa en route to the top of the podium.
3-time state champion at Ballard-Huxley winning titles as a sophomore (135), junior (152) and senior (171)… runner-up at 130 as a freshman... compiled a career prep record of 173-9… Fargo All-American.
