Donor Profile: Brooke Lovelace
AMES, Iowa - A 1992 graduate of Iowa State, Brooke Lovelace has always had a passion for the Cyclones. Her grandfather was a huge ISU football fan and passed down his unwavering cardinal and gold spirit when Lovelace was a little girl. She has had season tickets ever since her freshman year of college.
"It's a great feeling being a part of Cyclone nation," Lovelace said. "I try to never miss a game."
Lovelace lives for the feeling she gets the first time the ISU football team takes the field each year. The spirit of collegiate camaraderie fuels her desire to travel to road games at Nebraska in football, to the Big 12 Tournament in basketball and to the Hy-Vee Cy-Hawk Series wrestling matches.
The last two times Iowa State has traveled to Arizona for the Insight Bowl, Lovelace was there cheering on the Cyclones to bowl victories in 2000 and 2009.
"I am proud of the great tradition of athletics as well as academics at ISU," Lovelace said. "Iowa State is one of the best educational institutions in the world. I want our student-athletes to enjoy their experience as a Cyclone and return each year as proud alumni after they graduate, and continue to support our student-athletes."
Lovelace donates to the Cyclone Club to assist ISU student-athletes as they grow into adults and seek opportunities after college. Like the other many Cyclone Club members, Lovelace donates to fund student-athlete scholarships and provides a future for collegiate athletics. She also attends numerous women's basketball games and supports men and women's golf. Lovelace is a Project Coordinator for the Center of Disabilities and Development in Des Moines and serves as the President of the Greater Des Moines Cyclone Club.
