AMES, Iowa- The Iowa State Athletics Department's sixth annual Cy's House of Trivia event took place in Hilton Coliseum over the weekend.  And judging by the attendance and excitement in the air, it was another enormous success.

For the second year in a row the event was sold out, as 88 teams participated.  Since its inception in 2007, when 28 teams signed up, Cy's House of Trivia has grown into the Cyclone social event of the year.

"We are pleased to have another successful event with such great support from Cyclone fans," said Director of Special Events/Letterwinners Club Lindsey Long . "We are fortunate to have so many coaches, former student-athletes, and local personalities rally behind this event by serving as celebrities. This is more of a "friend-raiser" than a fundraiser and we have a great team who pulls everything together."

Iowa State celebrities that rotated among the tables to help participants answer questions included Iowa State athletics director Jamie Pollard, football coach Paul Rhoads, men's basketball coach Fred Hoiberg and women's basketball coach Bill Fennelly.  Other celebrities included former basketball player Julius Michalik, All-Big 12 First-Team linebacker Jesse Smith, track & field All-American Randy Thompson and wrestling All-Americans Jim and Jeff Gibbons. ISU men's hoops stars Royce White and Scott Christopherson also helped out.

Tables of eight players answered eight rounds of questions - 10 questions in each round- to see who could get the most answers correct. This year's categories included: University/College Mascots; Game Shows; Let's Hear it For The Band; The Agony of Defeat; Mind your P's and Q's; The Amazing Race; Math, Math I Hate Math; Social Media.

WHO-TV personalities Keith Murphy and Andy Fales emceed the event once again. Murphy and Fales co-host the award-winning Sports SoundOff show Sunday nights on WHO and have their own daily sports radio talk show (Murph and Andy) on 1460 KXNO.

The top-three finishers were awarded prizes which included football tickets, 2012 football tailgate tent and men's/women's basketball tickets and pre-game parties.  Raffle prizes were also given away throughout the evening, including a trip for two with the football team to a 2012 road game.
