Ostrowski Ties Career High; Places Fifth USA's

DES MOINES, Iowa – Iowa State wrapped up competition in impressive fashion today at the U.S.A. Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Redshirt sophomore Cameron Ostrowski captured the sixth top-10 finish by a Cyclone at the nation’s premiere track and field event, tying for fifth in the senior men’s high jump.

Ostrowski had no trouble over the bar on his first two jumps, clearing 7-00 1/2 and 7-02 1/2 on consecutive attempts. The Burlington, Ill., native then failed clear 7-04.50, but at 7-02 1/2, Ostrowski tied his career best, the third time he has cleared the height.

Erik Kynard, the silver medalist at the 2012 Olympics, won the event with a jump of 7-05 3/4

Lisa Uhl, who was scheduled to compete in the women’s senior 5,000-meter run, was scratched from today’s field.
