Collin Foster A 2014 NCAA Elite 89 Award Winner

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State men’s golfer Collin Foster received one of the highest honors awarded by the NCAA during the season when he was given the Elite 89 Award for men’s golf.

The Elite 89 Award, sponsored and funded by the NCAA, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.

The Elite 89 is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site of each of the NCAA’s 89 championships (Division I, II, III). Foster, who played in 11 tournaments while compiling a 75.33 stroke average in 2013-14, has a 3.940 cumulative GPA in biology.
