To the Red Raiders’ credit, Tech hung around for most of the first set, having the set tied at 19-19. However, the Cyclones went on a 4-0 run on the hitting of Mackenzie Bigbee, who had two of the kills on the run to make it 23-19 in the set and eventually leading to the set being closed out at 25-19.

Cyclone Match Ball Goes to…
Mackenzie Bigbee. The sophomore has made her transition to all six positions look easy Wednesday night. Bigbee continued her outstanding form in the attack with 17 kills at a .333 hitting percentage. What made her stand out was by the far the best defensive performance of her career as the sophomore had her first match with double-figure digs at 14. Bigbee also contributed two block assists.
Honorable mention to Jenelle Hudson, who had a double-double with 40 assists and 10 digs. Also a mention for Ciara Capezio, who had 12 kills at a .370 hitting clip.

*Iowa State is 2-0 in Big 12 play for the third time under head coach Christy Johnson-Lynch. The other two instances came in 2007 and 2011. ISU went 3-0 to start the Big 12 campaign in 2011.
*Head coach Christy Johnson-Lynch picked up her 180th career win Wednesday night. She has a career record of 180-85.
*The Cyclones out-blocked only its second opponent on the season, having 8.0 blocks to Texas Tech’s 2.0. ISU last out-blocked San Diego on Sept. 6 8.5-to-8.0.
*Jenelle Hudson posted her sixth double-double of the season with 40 assists and 10 digs.
*Mackenzie Bigbee posted the first double-double of her career with 17 kills and 14 digs. Her previous career-high for digs was six against Baylor last Saturday.
*Bigbee has been in double-figures for kills in four straight matches.
*Kristen Hahn had 12 digs to extend her streak of consecutive matches with at least 10 digs to 52.
*Ciara Capezio’s 12 kills marked the seventh match she reached double figures in that department this season.
