Fernandez Earns Second-Straight All-Region Selection

AMES, Iowa- Iowa State junior golfer Scott Fernandez was named to the Ping All-Region Team for the second in year in a row, announced today by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).

A native of Granada, Spain, Fernandez backed up his 2013 All-America season with another outstanding campaign in 2014. He currently leads the Cyclones in stroke average (71.75) and top-10 finishes (7).

Fernandez, who has competed in three-straight NCAA Regionals, spearheaded the Cyclones’ first NCAA Championship berth in 61 years by tying for sixth at the NCAA Columbia Regional last week. Fernandez and the Cyclones begin competition in the NCAA Championship this morning.

Fernandez is ISU’s career leader in stroke average (72.15) and top-10 finishes (21).
