Brouillette Wins Big 12 Diver of the Week
AMES, Iowa- Freshman Elyse Brouillette was named the Big 12 Conference Diver of the Week. This is Brouillette’s first weekly award from the Big 12.
Brouillette is the fifth diver in Iowa State history to win this award, joining Haley Haynes, Tien Tran (three times), Linda Wagner (two times) and Sarah Nelson (two times).
Against Iowa last weekend, Brouillette placed second on the 1-meter board with a score of 295.58, her best score for the season. On the 3-meter board she placed third with a score of 280.80.
The Omaha native has been a top Cyclone diver this season. Brouillette is currently leading the Cyclones on all three boards, as well as sitting fourth in Iowa State history on both the 1-meter (295.58) and platform boards (323.58). She is also sixth overall on the 3-meter board (298.65).
Brouillette will travel to Houston, Texas this March to compete at the NCAA Diving Championships. The freshman earned her ticket to the meet on the 3-meter board against Minnesota in her first collegiate dual meet with a score of 289.50.
The Cyclones will take a break from competition to make their annual winter training trip, Jan. 2-10, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.
