AMES, Iowa- Four different Cyclones scored as Iowa State cruised to a 4-0 win over North Dakota Sunday at the Cyclone Sports Complex to earn their fourth victory of the season.

Iowa State (4-2-0) controlled nearly the entire game taking a top-five school record 32 shots.  The Cyclones held North Dakota (0-6-0) to just one shot, which came late in the second half.

“I thought we came out and executed what we needed to do,” head coach Wendy Dillinger said. “We fixed some things from the game on Friday. We went with a lineup today to help keep the ball. The front players that we started with today are players that we know will keep the ball. I am pleased with our performance today.”

Koree Willer started the Cyclones off in the third minute with a goal from 20 yards out on the right hand side. Her shot sailed just high the North Dakota goalkeeper’s hands giving the Cyclones the early 1-0 lead.

Iowa State scored back-to-back goals in the 36th minute from Hayley Womack and Jennifer Dominguez. After passes from Jennifer Dominguez and Adalie Schmidt, Womack  was left with a wide open goal and only needed to tap the ball in to put the Cyclones up 2-0.  Dominguez scored with a header off of an assist from Hayley Womack just 34 seconds later.

Susie Potterveld scored the last goal for the Cyclones in the 55th minute. The junior put herself in position to have an open shot from 20 yards in front of the goal, which she drilled into the back of the net for the Cyclones last goal of the game.

Senior goalkeeper Maddie Jobe tied the school record for career shutouts with 16. Jobe recorded one save during the game bringing her career total to 223.

“Maddie has been a great addition to the program,” Dillinger said. “She is solid and consistent, she has shown great maturity in understanding different philosophy’s in the game. I am very happy for her that she hit that mark.”

Iowa State returns to action Thursday when they head to California to take on Santa Clara at 9 p.m.  The Cyclones will head to fourth-ranked Stanford on Sunday following Thursdays game to complete the two game road swing. Results will be available on Cyclones.com after the conclusion of the game.
