AMES, Iowa – Iowa State senior gymnast Celine Paulus was named the Big 12 Conference Gymnast of the Week the league announced Tuesday.  Paulus earned the honor for the first time in her career after posting a career-high 39.500 in the all-around in Iowa State’s near-upset at No. 6 Nebraska Saturday in its regular-season finale.

The Yorba Linda, Calif., native’s all-around score was the highest tally in the Big 12 this season, and the top mark by a Cyclone gymnast since All-America honoree Janet Anson’s 39.550 on March 23, 2007.

Paulus reeled off three-straight 9.900 scores (bars, vault and floor) at the meet in Nebraska, marking the first time a Cyclone has tallied 9.900 or higher on three events in the same meet since Anson on March 31, 2007.

Paulus tied her career-high tally on floor (9.900) and bars (9.900) at the competition and took home a share of first place on floor.
