AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State gymnastics team (1-4, 0-1 Big 12) will be back in action on Friday for their lone Big 12 home meet of the year as they take on West Virginia (4-3) in Hilton Coliseum at 6:30 p.m. CT.

The Cyclones will look to build momentum coming off their best performance of the season, putting up a season-high team score of 194.850 at No. 16 Oregon State. The team set season-highs on both uneven bars (48.850) and balance beam (48.750). Iowa State also tied its season-best number on vault with a 48.450.

Junior Caitlin Brown continued to impress in what has been a breakout junior campaign. The Apple Valley, Minn. native, set a career-best mark in the all-around at Oregon State with a 39.150. She scored a 9.875 on beam in the meet, tied for the Cyclones’ highest individual score in any event this season.

Iowa State also has an added boost to its lineup, as senior Michelle Shealy competed on balance beam at Oregon State, her first action of the season. It was Shealy’s first competition since placing fifth on beam and earning All-America honors at the 2013 NCAA Championships.
