AMES, Iowa – Iowa State senior Camille Santerre-Gervais has been named the Big 12 Event Specialist of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. Santerre is the first Cyclone to win a weekly award this year.

The St.-Lazare, Quebec native earned the award after an historic performance in the Cyclones’ 196.025-194.175 victory over West Virginia. Santerre completed a spectacular routine on uneven parallel bars to earn a score of 9.95 from the judges, tied for the highest score on bars in school history. Only four other gymnasts in program history have received a 9.95 on bars.

Santerre also set a new career high on balance beam with a 9.825 as she helped Iowa State to its first regular season meet score over 196 since the 2011 season.

The Cyclones will be back in action on Sunday at 1 p.m. to take on Northern Illinois and Texas Women’s University in DeKalb, Ill.
