Cyclones To Take On Iowa For Senior Night
AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State gymnastics team (3-8 overall, 1-1 Big 12) will celebrate senior night this Friday as the Cyclones welcome Iowa (1-8) to Hilton Coliseum at 6:30 p.m. CT. Seniors Henrietta Green, Milan Ivory, Hailey Johnson, Megan McDonald, Camille Santerre and Michelle Shealy will be honored following the meet.
The Cyclones’ senior class is a unique one, which has seen a wealth of both individual and team success. All six have scored over 500 points in their careers in Cardinal and Gold, and have helped the Cyclones to appearances at the NCAA Regionals in all three of their seasons at Iowa State.
These Cyclones have also accomplished great things as individuals. The class includes an All-American in Shealy, who placed fifth on balance beam at the 2013 NCAA Championships and a school record-holder in Santerre. The St. Lazare, Quebec native, is tied for highest-ever score on uneven bars with a 9.95, a feat only three other gymnasts in program history have matched.
Friday’s nights meet also holds implications for the annual Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series between Iowa State and Iowa. Iowa State currently holds a 10-9 lead and a win Friday would clinch the 2014 trophy for the Cyclones.
