Cyclones Wrap Up Competition At Jim Duncan Invite

DES MOINES, Iowa – The 10 members of the Iowa State track and field teams that traveled to Des Moines, Iowa, put on a strong performance Friday and Saturday at Drake’s Jim Duncan Invitational. Both Tyler Jermann and Ivan Tamba notched personal bests on the weekend in the 5,000-meter run and in the 200m, respectively.

In Friday’s action, Tyler Jermann was the lone Cyclone to compete at the meet, running in the 5,000-meter run. Jermann clocked a personal-best time in the race, crossing the line in 14:57.58.

Jessica Nichols notched a pair of third-place finishes in both the 100m and in the 200m, clocking in at 12.43 and 25.15. Her 22.15-second performance in the 200m was just one hundredth of a second off of her career best.

Tamba placed third and second in the 100m and 200m. Teammate Jared Ingram finished sixth in the 200m with a time of 22.32.

In her season debut, Bree Woelber picked up a third-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles. The Cyclone sophomore ran a time of 15.12 in the race, competing in heat No. 4. Kaci Storm finished the race in 15.95 seconds.

Next Up
The Cyclones return to the track next weekend, as the squads will split up and compete at one of three meets. Iowa State student-athletes will travel to the LSU Alumni Gold meet, Kansas Relays or the Mt. Sac Relays.
