OKOBOJI, Iowa - Overflow crowds met Iowa State coaches Paul Rhoads (football), Christy Johnson-Lynch (volleyball), Kevin Jackson (wrestling), Bill Fennelly (women's basketball) and Fred Hoiberg (men's basketball) as well as athletics director Jamie Pollard traveled in northwest Iowa Wednesday as a part of the Tailgate Tour.
The Cyclone contingent made the first stop of the Tailgate
Tour at Sioux City's Stoney Creek Inn to a beyond-capacity crowd. The audience was so large the Stoney Creek
Inn employees had to remove a portable wall to create more seating.
After the Sioux City afternoon stop, the Tailgate Tour continued on to Arnolds Park Pavilion in Okoboji. Another impressive crowd greeted the Cyclone fans and were treated to a rewarding night.
The Tailgate Tour wraps up Thursday with stops in Humboldt (afternoon) and Clear Lake (night). Rhoads, Johnson-Lynch, Fennelly, Jackson, Hoiberg and Pollard will all be interacting with fans at both stops. The Humboldt stop will be at Rustix Restaurant and Reception and the visit to Clear Lake will take place at the Surf Ballroom.
