ISU Eighth After Two Rounds At NCAA West Regional

ELUM, Wash- The No. 25 Iowa State women’s golf team is in eighth place through two rounds at the NCAA West Regional at the Tumble Creek Club at Suncadia Resort. The Cyclones carded a 305 today for a two-round 605 total.

Iowa State remains in the hunt for its elusive first NCAA Championship bid. The top eight teams in the 24-team field will advance to the NCAA Championship, May 20-23 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. ISU is two shots behind seventh-place Texas A&M (603) and a stroke ahead of ninth-place Wisconsin (606).

Top-ranked USC and Arizona State are tied for first at 578.

Big 12 All-Tournament team members Sasikarn On-iam and Chonlada Chayanun bounced back with excellent rounds this afternoon for the Cyclones, carding a pair of 74s. The duo is tied for 30th at 151.

On-iam had one birdie and 14 pars on her card today, and Chayanun was 1-under in the final eight holes.

Cajsa Persson is tied for 45th at 153, carding rounds of 76-77. Prima Thammaraks shot an 80 today and is also tied for 45th at 153. Carmen Vidau turned in an 84 today to sit in a tie for 81st at 158.
