Cyclones Third Place At Mountain View Collegiate
TUCSON, Ariz. - The Iowa State women's golf team is currently in third place after the first day of the Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz. The Cyclones fired a 293 in the first round and a 288 in the second round for a 581 total. Texas Tech is the current team leader, 11 shots ahead of Iowa State at 570.
Iowa State's 288 score in the second round ties for the sixth-best 18-hole team tally in school history.
The Cyclones have three players currently in the top 20, including Prima Thammaraks, who is tied for sixth after carding a pair of 70s (142). Junior Punpaka Phuntumabamrung is tied for 16th place at 145 (72-73) and Sasikarn On-iam is tied for 20th at 146 (74-72).
The tournament will conclude tomorrow with 18 holes.
