Three Cyclones Earn WGCA All-America Scholar Honors
AMES, Iowa - With the conclusion of its historic season, the Iowa State women’s golf team has even more to be proud of after the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced today their selections for the 2013-14 All-American Scholar Team. Cyclones Cajsa Persson, Carmen Vidau and Prima Thammaraks have all been chosen to receive this prestigious honor.
The WGCA All-American Scholar Team is comprised of 664 Division I, II and III women’s collegiate golfers. Athletes must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 in order to make the cut.
Persson concluded the 2013-14 season with a stroke average of 74.41, three top-10 finishes and two sub-70 rounds.
Vidau, in her freshman season, compiled a stroke average of 77.13 and competed in the 2014 NCAA Championships, the school’s first-ever appearance in the NCAA finals.
Thammaraks ended her career at Iowa State with a 74.38 stroke average in 2013-14. Her career 75.17 stroke average ranks third all-time in school history.
