New Facilities Under Construction
AMES, Iowa – By the end of September, the Iowa State wrestling team will
have one of the best training facilities in the country. The team’s
wrestling room, located on the second floor of the Lied Recreation Center, is currently undergoing a mass renovation.
The
project includes an expanded practice area which will have four mats
instead of three, an expanded team lounge, and a cardio room, something
the team has never had before. Video cameras will be on every single
mat, which will enable every session and practice to be recorded.
Wrestlers will be able to receive immediate feedback on various
technical aspects of the sport.
Iowa State coaches and wrestlers alike are extremely excited about the project.
“I
can’t say enough about what Iowa State University and the athletic
department is doing to upgrade our facilities,” head coach Kevin Jackson
said. “We already had an efficient facility, but this new one will give
us a great environment to train in. It will be one of the best
facilities in the country.”
The new wrestling practice facility will add to the number of top notch facilities already at Iowa State.
