Goldstein's Golden Goal Lifts Cyclones Past Baylor
AMES, Iowa- With 23 seconds remaining in overtime, senior midfielder Emily Goldstein delivered the golden goal to give the Cyclones (8-7-2, 2-3-1 Big 12) a 1-0 win over the Baylor Bears (8-4-3, 1-3-1 Big 12). This was the second consecutive game-winning goal for Goldstein as she also recorded one against Oklahoma last week.
Turning point of the game
Koree Willer played Emily Goldstein a perfect ball 15 yards out of the goal with 23 seconds left in the first overtime period. Goldstein outran a Baylor defender to receive the pass and have an opportunity to win the game. Goldstein didn’t disappoint, the senior buried the ball into the Baylor net and gave the Cyclones the win.

Cyclone game ball goes to…
Emily Goldstein. For the second straight week the senior came up huge for the Cyclones. Last week Goldstein recorded a hat trick in a 4-1 win over Oklahoma. This game when the game looked to be headed to another overtime period, Goldstein came up clutch again for the Cyclones to earn the victory.
Maddie Jobe. The senior goalkeeper made save after save to complete her 20th career shutout. The Bears fired 21 total shots at Jobe including nine on goal and had 12 corner kicks. Jobe did not allow the Bears to come close to scoring continuing her impressive season.
