No. 25 Iowa State Falls to No. 1 Texas in Four Sets
Turning Point of the Match
Iowa State went into the locker rooms with momentum after dominating the second set 25-17 to even up the match at one set apiece. However, the Texas servers raised their game in the third set and left the Cyclones in the dust. The top-spin jump serve of Haley Eckerman was the first to strike as she led Texas on a 4-0 run to get the Longhorns up 5-2 in the third set. After trading a few points, UT’s Hannah Allison went and started her own 6-0 run to leave Iowa State in a 13-4 hole that they were unable to get out of.
In the fourth set, it was an 8-0 run on the serve of Amy Neal that put the Longhorns up 19-8 in the frame and give UT control of the match.

Cyclone Match Ball Goes to…
Kristen Hahn. On an emotional Senior Night, Hahn showed the 3,490 who came to Hilton Coliseum why her spot in Iowa State volleyball history has already been cemented. When the Cyclones lost in Austin back on Oct. 19, the Longhorns did a good job making sure they were not targeting Hahn, going around one of the nation’s top defensive players as best they could.
Tonight, they did not get that option as Hahn covered the court and took the hardest shots Texas’ All-American attackers could send at her. She finished her final match in Hilton Coliseum with 24 digs, five assists and a kill.
