AMES, Iowa – Iowa State libero Kristen Hahn earned her third career All-American honor from the American Volleyball Coaches Association Wednesday as she was named to the AVCA Division I All-America Second Team. Right side Mackenzie Bigbee earned AVCA Division I Honorable Mention All-America honors.

This marks the sixth consecutive year that Iowa State has had multiple players honored by the AVCA All-American Committee. Hahn was a second team honoree in 2012 and earned an honorable mention in 2011. She becomes the fifth player in program history to make an AVCA All-America team at least twice, joining Victoria Henson, Alison Landwehr, Kaylee Manns and Ashley Mass (who did it three times). Counting honorable mentions, Hahn joins Henson and Mass to be recognized by the AVCA three times.

Bigbee becomes the 10th player in program history to be recognized by the AVCA All-American Committee. Of those 10 student-athletes, she is the sixth to earn the recognition as a sophomore, joining Hahn, Henson, Victoria Hurtt, Mass and Jamie Straube.

Hahn’s second team designation marks the sixth-consecutive season an ISU libero has earned All-American distinction. The three-time Big 12 Libero of the Year and two-time unanimous All-Big 12 and AVCA All-Region honoree, Hahn led the Big 12 for all but one week of the season in digs per set, finishing the season at 5.72 digs per set. Going into the NCAA Championship, Hahn was ranked third in the country in digs per set. Hahn was the first libero in conference history to be a unanimous All-Big 12 First Team selection twice. She holds the school record for most consecutive matches with at least 10 digs (67), most career matches with 20 digs (49) and most career matches with 30 digs (eight).

Bigbee was one of the most consistent hitters in the Big 12 this season which helped her garner the third-most votes among outside hitters/right side hitters in the region. Bigbee finished with 324 kills at 3.20 kills per set. In adjusting to her role as an all-rotations player, Bigbee finished the season with 136 digs at 1.35 digs per set.
